Being a state-owned bank is not a fatality: an Algerian case study

The Algerian banking industry is clearly dominated by the six state-owned banks (SOBs) which represent more than 85% of total asset. While it widely admitted that public ownership in developing countries often correlated with inefficiency and waste resources, performance management SOBs branches mostly operated using basic accounting ratios. data envelopment analysis (DEA) a sophisticated approach if designed properly may enhance significantly branches' creating competitive pressure generally unattainable sectors. This research demonstrates all potential DEA technique as comparative measure enhancing efficiency bank branches. To aim, radial super-efficiency models are conjointly applied.
